In this short interdisciplinary course you will examine:
- Social justice in different contexts and how this applies to your discipline.
- Real world issues such as the unequal impacts of waste, access to higher education and local action.
- How benefits, costs, opportunities and responsibilities are shared across society.
You will reflect on:
- The roles that individuals, communities, institutions and systems play in creating fairer outcomes.
- How meaningful action for social justice can take shape.

- Delivered online, at your own pace (approximately 90 minutes long)
- Designed to deliver a unique and interactive learning experience
- Accessible to all students from all disciplines.
- Articulate what social justice means and why definitions differ.
- Start applying a thinking framework to analyse real-world social justice challenges across different fields and contexts.
- Recognise individual and collective contributions to social justice and identify concrete actions students can take.

This short course contributes to both the previous version of Stellify (pre 2026) and the new Stellify (2026 onwards).
New Stellify:
Completion of the Social Justice: From Theory to Practice short course will:
- Count towards the following Stellify stream:
- Becoming a Global Citizen
- Provide 50 points towards the above stream.
- On completion, you will be able to download a personalised certificate to submit as evidence.
Previous Stellify:
- Completing this course is required for the Understanding the Issues that Matter stream of the previous Stellify. Please note, if you have completed the Ethical Grand Challenges previously, you do not need to enrol in these short courses.
